Things To Do In Northeast Minnesota & Member Bed and Breakfast's
The stunningly beautiful northeast corner of Minnesota is the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, which hugs roughly 100 miles of the Canadian border.  The  Boundary Waters area is one of the most remote, beautiful and peaceful regions of Minnesota, and our Minnesota Bed and Breakfasts serve as the perfect jumping-off point to explore this area. Visitors from all over the world come to northeastern Minnesota to discover this area, and to experience nature as it was meant to be seen. During the summer months, visitors pick up a paddle and head out onto silent waters, and in the winter they don skis and explore miles of world-class cross-country ski trails. Listen for the howls of wolves from the safety of your Minnesota Bed and Breakfast, then head out for your adventure, all the while keeping your eye out for moose, bear, and other extraordinary wildlife that call this area home.Â
When your adventure in the boundary waters is complete, head east and discover the craggy northern shores of Lake Superior. Easily one of the most beautiful areas in the state, the North Shore is home to some of the best opportunities for outdoor recreation, and home to popular and outdoorsy cities like Duluth.Â
While here, enjoy the scenery along North Shore Scenic Byway or get out for some adventure on foot by hiking portions of the Superior Hiking Trail, which extends more than 200 miles from Duluth to the northern border with Canada. Explore the regional state parks, like Jay Cooke State Park, Gooseberry Falls State Park, Tettagouche State Park, or Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, one of the most photographed areas in the state. Enjoy a peaceful paddle on Lake Superior, work up a sweat on the extensive mountain biking trails in Duluth, and then unwind with a pint of beer at some of the state’s most popular breweries. Further southwest in Gilbert, folks can explore the woods in their ATVs and trucks in the only off-highway vehicle park in the state of Minnesota.
The Northeast Region is also rich in history. Find a unique Minnesota Bed and Breakfast in the town of Two Harbors, where several museums explore the relationship between the town and Lake Superior. Grand Rapids is home to the famous actress/singer Judy Garland and the Forest History Center is a State Historic Site and a living history museum that recreates life as it was in a turn of the 20th-century logging camp. Visit the largest open-pit iron mine in the world in Hibbing, MN. Â
There is something for everyone in the Arrowhead of Northeast Minnesota. Adventure is truly at the heart of everything in northeast Minnesota, including your stay at one of our welcoming Minnesota Bed and Breakfasts.Â
