Tall Ships at the 2019 Festival of Sail in Duluth
2019’s Festival of Sail in Duluth is the perfect opportunity to watch tall ships as they sail into Duluth’s picturesque harbor. 2019’s festival will run from August 11 – 13. Throughout the festival’s three days, you’ll also be able to step onboard these historic ships, and even take a sail. This year’s festival is slated to be the largest of its type in the region, and will feature ship tours, day sails, educational programming, food and beverage, entertainment and plenty of fun for everyone who makes their way here. A complete schedule of events is available online. The highlight of the festival includes the Grande Parade of Sail, which is from 9:00 am – 11:00 am on August 11, 2019. Afterwards, the ships open for tours throughout the evening. On both August 12 and 13, 2019, the ships open for tours at 9am. To date, there are seven tall ships scheduled to appear in Duluth. They include the US Brig Niagara, the Schooner Appledore V, the S/V Dennis Sullivan, the Abbey Road, the Schooner Utopia, the M/V Sundew, a former US Coast Guard Cutter, and the Gerhard Folgero.
