The Loghouse & Homestead Bed & Breakfast on Spirit Lake is an ideal place for birdwatching, thanks to the nearby wildlife refuges and the abundance of bird houses and bird feeding stations on the property. One bird in particular that can be found there is the Cedar Waxwing.

This beautiful bird not only has amazing orange and yellow coloring, but displays some unique courtship rituals such as passing around flower petals, sharing food, and rubbing bills. Outside of the breeding season, hundreds of these birds will migrate and feed together on their way south. The Cedar Waxwing is not yet endangered, but is categorized as ‘least concern’ for its conservation status and there are laws preventing them from being kept in captivity.
This bird and more can be found at the Loghouse & Homestead B&B
