Here at Embracing Pines Bed & Breakfastthe new ‘bird babies’ are coming out of the nests. I have seen the Baltimore Orioles, and the little wrens, and I am anxiously waiting for the hummingbirds. You can see the eagle baby, but I have only seen it in the nest looking out.
The lilies are almost finished blooming, and the daylilies are taking up the slack that seems to exist from the closure of the life of those beautiful flowers. It seems that the hibiscus like this weather…..there are red and yellow blossoms that are about 8″ across and there is a tree that is 4 trees that have been braided together which has breathtaking, double peach colored blossoms……………..the hummers have been hitting those flowers! There are several other colors, but those big ones sure take center stage.
The Mandivilla are just starting to bloom and there are lots of buds on the plants, so lets hope that they are blooming in unison with those hibicus and it will be a little bit of the tropics in the woods by the river.
Lucy has been to boy camp again, and she isn’t telling anything about what happened there. We are going to just wait and see and hope that she had better luck than she did last time. If she is in a ‘motherly fashion’ the puppies should be borm about September 10. Say your prayers!!!
We will keep you posted here, and there will be pictures of the puppies on the website when/if the puppies arrive.
No craziness here today, just the laziness of the river. We will take it…………quiet enough to listen to the frogs, by the flickering light of the fireflies over the river…..
