It is soon getting to be autumn, and the leaves will be changing to the most breath-taking colors that you can imagine. The hummingbirds are now consuming about 1 gallon of syrup daily to ‘bulk’ up for their migration flight. This is one of the signs that things are changing. The juvenile Baltimore Orioles are making their way to the grape jelly in hopes of doing the same. The orioles are changing daily, with the intensity of their colors. They too, are maturing for their flight.
Soon we will be lighting the fireplace to take the chill off of the night and guests will be able to sit with their chocolate, tea, or whichever beverage they prefer and snuggle in, to relax, and lose themselves in the flickering flames, if just for a moment.
We are watching for the first signs of the colorful leaves, but not to soon…..
